Terre di Sava was recently purchased by a group of wine lovers who joined forces to rescue a treasured winery from financial difficulties. Establishing themselves in 2008 in Puglia they buildt upon an already incredible tradition of viticulture and wine production. The investors knew the heritage and potential of this unique land and were able to capitalise on the best aspects of the terroir, climate and unfaltering human endeavour to produce some of the regions best wines.

The village of Sava is at the centre of the Primitivo di Manduria DOC, an area renowned for the production of exceptional, fruit driven reds made from the indigenous Primitivo grape,

The company mission is to continue to produce high quality wines typical of the region that will be experienced and enjoyed by connoisseurs throughout the world.

When you taste this phenomenol wine you will understand their passion!

Grapes : 100% Primitivo grapes, from old bush vines

Vines/Ha : 5,000 plants

Harvest : Last week of August by hand.

Soil : Clay and limestone, reddish-brown in colour.

This is the heart of the so called terre rossa (red soil) territory where temperatures are very high and rainfall is minimal. Winemaking The grapes were destemmed and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks at 21-24C. The wine was aged for 6 months in French oak barriques followed by a minimum of 6 months in bottle prior to release.

Colour : Ruby red with violet tinges.

Taste : A generous bouquet reminiscent of ripe cherries, plums with notes of cocoa and vanilla.

In the mouth the wine has a warm and velvety texture and finishes with a touch of sweetness typical of the Primitivo grape.
