I have just received a review set of the soon to be released ‘Earth’ i-Mego headphones (http://imego.ecrater.com). First impressions are very good. Both bass and treble give a good performance – surprisingly clear sound. The area in which they definitely score top points, however, is the design. Not only are they bright green, but a funky ace of spades symbol on the earpiece covers means you definitely stand out from the crowd!.
It’s refreshing to see a brand not following the trend of boring old grey/black headphones and pumping something out which lets you express your individuality.
The other area these rate highly in my books is build quality. The cable is well protected and very flexible, so you don’t risk it deteriorating over time as is common with so many headphones nowadays.
I’m also a fan of the metal bracket connecting the overhead section to the earpieces. Not only can they be adjusted to any size, but it means the earpieces can rotate. For me, this meant a snug fit over the ears and little outside noise. I expect this would be the same across all age groups and head shapes!
All in all, mainly positive feedback from me – yet the design won’t be for everyone.
The only real place they seem to have cut back on is the packaging – which was in cardboard rather than plastic. I suppose that being called ‘Earth’ and being bright green it only makes sense that they came in something a little more environmentally friendly!
